One thing that has helped me to get even more motivated is having a year of adsense behind me now. It means I can compare this year to last year and I can tell you it is a BIG incentive to continue.

I look at last years earnings and I was lucky if I made $1 in a day, and took a few months to get enough to even have a payout. Now I often make $10 - $15+ a day and it continues to average higher and higher.

I believe this to have a lot to do with the snowball effect on where your sites get linked from / regular readers of the whitehat ones, and general crafting of your own abilities. Yeah a year is a long time in many books, and I would probably be a lot further along if I had pulled my finger out. But I didnt and dont want it to rule my life, I do it for fun and profit as well as learning.

Remember that it takes time for domains to “age” and settle into the engines, especially the smaller unknown ones that people use etc.

Now I know for sure that it works and that I am capable I can now continue to develop and this time next year be even higher still.

So the reason for my post was two-fold.

Number 1, those that are currently doing it and have been doing it for some time, do a comparison, even if only a few months back, and look at the improvement from $0 - $xx that you have made.

Those that are just starting out keep in mind that it does take time, and the more you put in the more you get out. Adsense etc is not a get rich quick scheme, its a get rich quicker scheme, but its still work
