Secret Forums You’re Not Meant To Know About

Auto Date Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

chat32The last few weeks have seen the traffic on here explode more than I ever imagined when I first started keeping my money making ‘diary’. Along with this has come the usual deluge of SPAM emails for everything from Viagra to Long Case Clocks. Today’s post however is going to focus on some of the more exciting emails that I have had from all of you and what that will mean for you.

Roughly 10-30 people have been emailing me a week with very specific questions regarding SEO, online marketing, affiliate schemes etc. The problem is often I don’t have the time I would like to answer everything over and over again, ending up with me finding an email that I answered a week back and forwarding it to the new ‘questioneer’ that got in touch with me.

Other emails ask where they can find more information about ‘Making Money Online’ and then ramble on about wanting me to ‘make’ them a site, or help them do ‘XYZ’ which once again I don’t really have time to do for free.

Due to all of these emails I am playing with the idea of setting up an “insider” forum here on Brighton Vibes. I am NOT going to be charging for access etc so no, it’s not being used as a way for me to make money, I just feel that it may help store the usual questions and allow all of you to collect thoughts together in order to gain ground with online marketing etc.

I want to know what YOUR thoughts are on these potential new forums. Do you feel it would help to build a community here on BV that will expand beyond comments on posts? You can comment here or email me your ideas and if there is enough call for the forums I will go about creating them for you, well, for us!

Now you’re going to tell me that the moment I start thinking about producing a way to answer all your questions that no one has any now? lol

Had a few emails actually, and may have 1 moderator lined up for the new forums. Any more suggestions are welcome. Just had a suggestion for a “site review” section in the forums. If they go ahead that will deffo be added. :)

[…] Dave over at Brighton Vibes has just opened a forum. He’s interested to see whether it’d built a community beyond the basic ‘blog and comments’ model that both his site and this very one work on currently. […]

Ok, have had a massive surge of emails! The forums are under construction and will be open shortly. ;)

If anyone wants a sneak preview get in touch via the contact form. I will announce everything in the next few days to the rest :)
