Time for a summer clean
I seem to have missed spring this year, however looking at the dreary weather outside here in the UK it seems that Summer is passing by with a “no show” as well.
I figure it is time to give everything a bit of a clean and a sort out. First up is to tidy my domains list. To do this I have listed them all on SEDO so that they will either sell, or make a bit of cash without me having to do much with them at the moment. I have also listed them in the forums in case anyone is interested in snapping up a cheap purchase.
The other thing I really need to keep tabs on is the number of projects I have going at any one time. Those that are regular readers and forum users will know that I have a tendancy to start many projects, though I also tend to see them all the way through. This is fine, but I want to start putting more focus and effort into each one individually, with a sight towards long term money making potential rather than chucking something up with adwords and a few affiliate product links.
The priority for me at the moment has been Brighton Vibes (this site) and the Brighton Vibes forums. They are the centre of my project ‘universe’ and must be kept up to date and running well at all times.
Next on my list has been keeping sites like Dashboard Monkey running smoothly and up to date as these bring in the primary source of income in terms of adsense.
Now we move on to an area which has been developing but needs more time and work spent on it, the affiliate sales via PPC and sites. I have been spending a great deal of time researching the products and conversion rates for each one and feel as though I have some high earners which I can launch in the next week or so on MSN Adcenter and Google Adwords.
The main stay of any success online is ‘focus’ and ‘time’. If you don’t give things time, they wont flourish, and if you don’t focus the time you give them then you may as well be running backwards in a wind tunnel. I am not sure where that analogy went either, but what I am really trying to say is make sure you don’t spread yourself too thinly accross your ideas and projects.
Additionally be sure not to expect returns straight away, normally it will take a number of months, if not a year or more before anything exciting starts to happen, but it is at that point you can move on to a new project and ‘prune’ the existing one.
Feel free to discuss this in the forum at this post. All comments are now being turned off on these main blog entries so that people can keep and chat about them in the forums. Anyway, if you have not checked them out then you are really missing out on some great discussion with a lot of the main players making money online.
