Starting a New Business
Having been playing the AIS / Adsense and website game for a hefty number of years I have seen the highs and lows of making money online without any real “product” to speak of. MY most successful was / is DashboardMonkey.com and this still makes a good chunk of cash for me each month.
The latest venture into more “product” based services, including the WaterUtopia website has given me a real thirst for providing real products and building a proper business.
I have now closed the WaterUtopia website, mainly because the drop ship provider I was making use of has dropped pretty much ever product line I was selling. I may bring the shop back out of the gutter or sell it soon but for now I have just switched it off. Good bye rankings!
So where does this leave me? Where am I going with all of this? Well those of you that read this blog often will know that I have release a few SMS products over the last few months. These include TextAnonymous.com and YourMyCrush.com / URmycrush.com out into the wild.
You may be interested to know that these sites have actually been very successful since their recent launch. YourMyCrush.com was covered in a few papers and magazines, I gave a few interviews, and have a meeting next week with some guys from down under that want to licence the product and technology over there.
All of this “quick” success rather than constant SEO bashing has given me a passion and a drive to go into this sector deeper than I am currently based. This will include more product releases, more tech licenceing / revenue shares, and more sms and mobile services released for consumer and business consuption.
To help make this happen I have set up a new domain DWGmobile.com which will soon been developed into a full website offering all the services and products under one roof. For now it just has some links and a bit of text.
I will keep you updating along the way on how well setting up a new business goes, and of course any products that are developed along the way.
Out of interest, are there any mobile services you wish were available to you?
